Darryn Allan
Energy Officer, SEforALL

Darryn Allan is a trade and investment policy professional with over a decade of experience at the intersection of sustainable industrialization, investment policy, and international economic cooperation. Currently working on Green Industrialisation at Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), he supports efforts to accelerate low-carbon growth and green value chain development across emerging markets.

Before joining SEforALL, Darryn served as a Senior Banker at the European Investment Bank (EIB), focusing on investment opportunities and partnerships in African markets, and previously as a Trade & Economics Policy Officer at the European Union Delegation to South Africa, where he contributed to strengthening EU–Africa trade and investment relations in key sectors such as energy, digital transformation, and raw materials.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in corporate affairs and business advocacy with the Western Cape Government and the Border-Kei Chamber of Business, driving stakeholder engagement, sustainability initiatives, and public–private collaboration.

Darryn brings a strong track record in policy dialogue, negotiation, and programme management, with a professional focus on building the partnerships and enabling conditions needed for inclusive, sustainable growth in developing economies.
